The Winter of Discontent
Amr, a 35-year-old software designer who seldom steps out of his home office, finds himself in an Egypt that feels transformed. It’s January 25, 2011, and the day begins with reports of widespread demonstrations across Cairo, with crowds converging on Tahrir Square. Amr senses that these protests might spark significant political upheaval. Meanwhile, Farah, a news anchor in her early 30s, delivers a version of events on Egyptian television that contrasts sharply with the reports circulating online and on international networks.
