The Vigil

In “The Vigil,” directed by Keith Thomas, a young man named Yakov, struggling with his faith and financial difficulties, reluctantly agrees to take on the role of a “shomer,” watching over a deceased member of his former Orthodox Jewish community. As the night unfolds in a dimly lit Brooklyn home, he encounters a malevolent supernatural entity that forces him to confront his past traumas and beliefs.
