The Ticking Man
In the secluded west coast of Scotland, a drug dealer betrays and murders a drug trafficker who supplies him with narcotics. The dealer is subsequently apprehended and discovers that a pair of unidentified locals witnessed the crime. Facing a potential life sentence, he decides to hire a hitman to eliminate these witnesses. Outside a rural police station, the hitman starts a stopwatch, dashes across the road, leaps into his car, and speeds away. He races through the desolate landscape until he reaches the isolated, single-street village of Bartoun. He checks his stopwatch, which shows 28 minutes and 36 seconds. He notices a poster announcing a fair in a neighboring village, advising Bartoun’s residents to gather on the main street at noon for transportation. As the villagers begin to assemble the following day, the hitman approaches and starts shooting, aware that he has 28 minutes and 36 seconds before the police arrive.
