The Squad

A palpable tension fills the air as a military unit advances to the base of a mountain, where they are instructed to await reinforcements and maintain their position. The mountain is enveloped in mist, and the soldiers are weary. They have been engaged in combat with guerrilla forces on hostile ground for an extended period, leaving them drained by the stress and anxiety of warfare. The troops are reluctant to wait; they are eager to storm the hill, fearing that their fellow soldiers at the base have been overwhelmed by the guerrillas. The squad’s leader struggles in vain to keep his men disciplined while contending with his defiant second-in-command.
