The Mortician
The Mortician, portrayed by Method Man, is a detached and unemotional figure who handles bodies with a cold indifference. He leads a solitary and secluded life. His boss at the morgue, played by Edward Furlong, introduces him to a new worker, Noah (EJ Bonilla), a troubled young man fulfilling his parole requirements. Noah inadvertently brings the dangerous gangster Carver (Dash Mihok) and his gang to the mortuary. The Mortician’s interest is piqued by a tattoo of Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’ on a murdered woman’s body (Judy Marte) that arrives at the morgue, stirring up disturbing memories from his childhood. When he discovers a frightened child named Kane (Cruz Santiago) escaping the morgue, he is compelled to take action. The Mortician and Kane form an uneasy partnership, seeking redemption as they flee. Through his clumsy acts of heroism, the Mortician reconnects with his buried past and uncovers the answers he has been seeking, ultimately finding redemption and peace.
