The Long Shot

Annie Garret, a young woman, relocates with her unreliable husband, Ross, and their seven-year-old daughter, Taylor, from Colorado to a ranch in northern California. Ross soon deserts them after failing to secure employment. Left without money or friends, Annie is responsible for caring for Taylor and her cherished racehorse, Tolo. She finds work as a ranch hand and stable worker at a stud farm owned by the strict Mary Lou O’Brien, who is grappling with her own personal issues. Despite facing numerous challenges, Annie is determined to enter her horse in a prestigious riding competition. However, when Tolo loses his sight due to a racing illness, Annie must confront her difficulties and attempt the seemingly impossible.
