The Keeping Room

In “The Keeping Room,” directed by Daniel Barber, three Southern women—two sisters and an African-American slave—are left to fend for themselves in their isolated farmhouse during the waning days of the American Civil War. As they struggle to protect their home from two rogue Union soldiers, the women must confront their own fears and prejudices to survive.
