The Federal Justice Department seeks to maintain its political image by promoting inclusivity and cooperation as it assumes authority over the Tribal Police Force responsible for the four Indian Reserves encircling the city. Acting Tribal Chief Samantha Woodburn faces the challenge of cutting through bureaucratic obstacles while also establishing her credibility within the predominantly white, male-dominated Metro Police. Entering this new and challenging environment, she must maneuver through political intricacies and protocols, often finding herself at odds with her new colleague, Chuck “Buke” Bukansky, a veteran Metro Police detective who is past his prime.
