Now in her 30s, Shannon seeks fresh experiences and challenges, leaving Toronto behind to concentrate on her new position, forming new connections, reconnecting with family, and discovering more about herself. Her characteristic optimism is challenged as she navigates managing a quirky team, which includes her indifferent cousin Nikki, the overly enthusiastic animal care manager Kristian, the sheltered office manager Joy, and Paul, the maintenance guy whose deadpan prison humor keeps everyone alert.
