Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated
“Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated” marks the eleventh version of the Hanna-Barbera Scooby-Doo animated series and is notable for being the first not initially broadcast on Saturday mornings. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network, it debuted on Cartoon Network in the U.S. on April 5, 2010. The series continued with twelve more episodes and a re-airing of the first episode on July 12, 2010, ultimately wrapping up on April 5, 2013, after two seasons comprising fifty-two episodes, with each season containing twenty-six episodes.
This series revisits the early adventures of Scooby and his friends as they solve mysteries in their hometown, while also nodding to earlier versions of the franchise, including cases and creatures from the original “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!” Each episode humorously tweaks the traditional Scooby-Doo formula, featuring increasingly bizarre technology, skills, and scenarios for each villain, and offering a fresh take on the iconic “meddling kids” line at the end of every episode. In stark contrast, the series introduces two novel elements to the Scooby-Doo universe: a serialized format with a continuous story arc that incorporates dark plot elements treated with almost complete seriousness, and ongoing relationship drama among the characters.
