This miniseries, inspired by the real-life events of Sam Meffire, chronicles his journey of ascent and decline in East Germany. It explores Sam’s intense quest for belonging while he battles for acknowledgment and fairness. The narrative traces his transformation from the GDR’s first Black police officer to a media sensation, and ultimately to a criminal during the tumultuous period after Germany’s reunification.
