Men in Trees

Men in Trees

“Men in Trees” is an American romantic comedy-drama TV series that first aired on ABC on September 12, 2006. The show featured Anne Heche as Marin Frist, a relationship coach navigating her romantic misadventures. Set in the fictional town of Elmo, Alaska, the series drew comparisons to HBO’s “Sex and the City” due to its focus on a female writer with a romantic angle. Marin’s experience as an outsider in a small Alaskan town is reminiscent of CBS’s “Northern Exposure,” where New Yorkers find themselves in similar settings. The series was filmed in Squamish, British Columbia.

Five episodes from the first season, which hadn’t been broadcast on ABC, premiered in New Zealand on the TV2 network in June and July 2007. These episodes were later shown on ABC following the first episode of the second season, starting on October 19. “Men in Trees” was officially canceled on May 4, 2008, with its remaining episodes airing during the summer of 2008 as a final release.
