MacGyver
“MacGyver” is an American action-adventure TV series conceived by Lee David Zlotoff, with Henry Winkler and John Rich serving as executive producers. The show aired for seven seasons on ABC in the United States and on various international networks from 1985 to 1992. Filming took place in Los Angeles for seasons 1, 2, and 7, and in Vancouver for seasons 3 through 6. The series concluded with its final episode on April 25, 1992, on ABC.
The narrative centers on Angus MacGyver, portrayed by Richard Dean Anderson, a secret agent who operates as a problem-solver for the fictional Phoenix Foundation in Los Angeles and as an operative for a made-up U.S. government entity, the Department of External Services. With a background in science and experience as a Bomb Team Technician/EOD during the Vietnam War, MacGyver is known for his ingenuity and extensive knowledge of the physical sciences. He tackles intricate issues using everyday items he finds around him, along with his trusty duct tape and Swiss Army knife. MacGyver favors non-violent solutions and generally avoids using firearms, though he will resort to them if absolutely necessary.
