Ghost Hunters

Ghost Hunters is an American reality TV series focused on the paranormal, which first aired on Syfy on October 6, 2004. The show follows paranormal investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson as they explore locations rumored to be haunted. Initially, both worked as plumbers for Roto-Rooter during the day and conducted their investigations at night. With the show’s growing popularity, it has become their primary focus, though they remain honorary employees of Roto-Rooter and occasionally take on jobs when their schedules allow.

This series is not connected to the original Ghosthunters show from 1996 by Inca Productions for the Discovery Channel. The concept was adapted by Pilgrim Films & Television in the U.S. to create Ghost Hunters. The only connection between the two versions is Ian Cashmore, who hosted the UK/Europe show. Cashmore was involved in the initial stages of the U.S. version but opted out after filming the promotional material.
