Elfen Lied

The Diclonius, a mutated form of homo sapien believed to be chosen by God and destined to bring about humanity’s downfall, are characterized by two horns on their heads and a “sixth sense” that grants them telekinetic powers. Because of these dangerous abilities, they have been captured and kept in isolation by the government in laboratories. Lucy, a young and unstable Diclonius, manages to escape her captivity, violently killing most of the guards in the process, but is shot in the head during her getaway. She survives and ends up on a beach, where she is found by two teenagers, Kouta and Yuka. With no memory of her past, she is named “Nyuu” after the only word she can say, and the pair take her in to live at Kouta’s house.
