Anna Pihl
“Anna Pihl” is a Danish police drama series created by TV2, featuring Charlotte Munck in the lead role as Anna Pihl, alongside Peter Mygind and Iben Hjejle as Mikala. The show consists of three seasons, each comprising 10 episodes.
The narrative centers on Anna Pihl, a police officer stationed at Bellahøj in Copenhagen, as she navigates her professional duties and personal life. Divorced, she resides with her son, Mikkel, and shares her apartment with Jan, her gay male friend. While the series includes elements of action and suspense, it prioritizes personal storytelling and realism.
Apart from Denmark, “Anna Pihl” has been broadcast in Iceland, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. In Germany, the show was discontinued after the first nine episodes of the initial season due to low viewership, though it was later re-aired in a late-night slot starting in September 2008. The first season was also shown in Estonia and on SBS One in Australia. In the USA, Latin America, and Portugal, the series is available on Eurochannel.
The theme music for the first season was “Crosshair” by Blue Foundation, while the second and third seasons featured “In the End I Started” by Swedish artist Maria Marcus and Danish musician Niels Brinck.
