On June 18, 1954, the CIA distributed leaflets in Guatemala City, calling for the president to step down. This event marked the beginning of a 36-year-long Civil War in Guatemala. Despite the daunting challenges, a sense of hope is emerging. Against all odds, those who once suffered have become leaders, choosing to confront their painful histories to aid the future generation. This narrative follows their journey. Shorty, once involved in gang life and now a pastor, and Tita, who established a school in one of Guatemala’s most infamous slums, have teamed up to rejuvenate La Limonada.
