Promised Land

In “Promised Land,” directed by Gus Van Sant, corporate salesman Steve Butler arrives in a rural town with his partner to secure drilling rights for natural gas, believing it will bring economic prosperity. However, as he encounters resistance from the community and an environmental activist, Steve begins to question the ethical implications of his work and the true cost of progress.
