Outside the Box

Frederick Schopner, a young consultant in management, is invited to a unique team-building exercise. He and his coworkers are set to be pursued through an outdoor obstacle course, where their leadership skills and teamwork abilities will be evaluated through video monitoring. The twist: the company has enlisted two aging actors to stage a mock kidnapping, using fake weapons to hold the consultants hostage and demand a hefty ransom from the firm. It’s intended to be a realistic and entertaining role-play. However, the plan goes awry when the actors become so immersed in their roles that they decide to carry out the kidnapping for real, this time with actual weapons. Meanwhile, Vanessa, the Human Resources manager, is watching the events unfold on video and must figure out how to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.
