MORTAL KOMBAT: REBIRTH is a short film directed by Kevin Tancharoen, released in 2010. Created as a concept demonstration for Tancharoen’s proposal to Warner Brothers for a new movie series, this 8-minute film showcases a complex fight sequence choreographed by Larnell Stovall. It brings back iconic Mortal Kombat characters such as Jax (played by Michael Jai White), Sonya Blade (portrayed by Jeri Ryan), Johnny Cage (played by Matt Mullins), Scorpion (portrayed by Ian Anthony Dale), Baraka (played by Lateef Crowder), and Shang Tsung (portrayed by James Lew).
