Max and Hélène
Based on a true story from a novel by Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal, this film follows his 1962 legal pursuit of a former Polish factory manager, who is revealed to have been a brutal labor camp commandant. To bring him to justice, Wiesenthal needs to locate witnesses who can testify against him. This search leads him to Max Rosenberg, a man still haunted by the loss of his wife, Helen, during the Holocaust. Although Max is initially reluctant to assist, his narrative slowly emerges, starting from the time before the Holocaust.
