Liefling

At its heart is Liefling Marais, a spirited young woman with a zest for life and a love for adventure. She resides on a farm with her father Simon, a university professor, her mother Linda, her grandfather Karel, her brother Kobus, and their housekeeper Katy. In one of Simon’s classes, we meet three friends: Jan, Pieter, and Gert, who also live in Hartbeespoort. Jan shares a home with his grandmother, Elsa Ferreira. The narrative kicks off during the December holidays, when a pampered heiress, Melanie von Staden, sets her sights on winning over the charming Jan Ferreira, who is enamored with Liefling.
