Po is preparing to assume the role of spiritual leader in the Valley of Peace, but he also needs to find a successor for his position as Dragon Warrior. To do this, he will mentor a new kung fu student to fill the role. Along the way, he will face a foe known as the Chameleon, who has the ability to summon adversaries from the past.
