Homo Sapiens

Homo Sapiens

Imagine scenes reminiscent of a science fiction film set on Earth after it has become unlivable. Picture deserted structures like residential complexes, retail stores, cinemas, hospitals, offices, schools, libraries, amusement parks, and prisons. These locations are slowly being overtaken by nature: a bar covered in moss with ferns sprouting between the stools, a vending machine still filled with soft drinks now enveloped in greenery, a landfill overrun with plants, or military tanks abandoned in the woods. Tall grass emerges from the cracks in the pavement. Birds fly within the dome of an inactive reactor, while the wind causes window blinds to rattle and loose papers to drift, accompanied by the sound of rain—creating an atmosphere rich in silence and reflection. Each of these places bears the remnants of past human life, serving as a testament to a civilization that once produced architecture, art, entertainment, technology, ideologies, conflicts, and environmental catastrophes.
