George Wallace

“George Wallace” is a 1997 TV movie featuring Gary Sinise in the role of George Wallace, the former Alabama Governor. Directed by John Frankenheimer, the film earned him an Emmy award, while Sinise and Mare Winningham also received Emmys for their roles. The movie is adapted from the 1996 biography “Wallace: The Classic Portrait of Alabama Governor George Wallace” by Marshall Frady, who co-wrote the screenplay. Frankenheimer’s work was met with critical acclaim, garnering a Golden Globe for Best Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television. Additionally, Angelina Jolie won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Cornelia, Wallace’s second wife.
