Endgame

From the age of five, Jose’s grandmother instilled in him the art of chess, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, a chess champion in Mexico. Now, as a member of the Brownsville school chess team, Jose has the opportunity to showcase his talents and, for the first time, steps into the limelight as he strives to lead his team to the Texas state finals. Under the guidance of their coach, Mr. Alvarado, who imparts lessons on resilience and teamwork amidst challenges, Jose uncovers his personal strengths and uses them to mend his fractured family.
