Dreams of Getting Rich

The narrative unfolds over almost three decades, chronicling the journey of “Xiao Bao,” a destitute youth from the northeastern region. He trails after “Er Ge” (played by Sha Yi), the barber from his village, to the special economic zone of Shenzhen. Together, they unexpectedly find themselves responsible for a baby, and along the way, they encounter Ma Lu (portrayed by Ma Li), a young woman with a seemingly icy demeanor.
