Coming to My Senses
In 1999, Aaron Baker suffered a severe motocross accident that left him with a broken neck and completely paralyzed from the neck down. Despite the bleak outlook from doctors over the following 16 years, Aaron chose to defy the odds—estimated at a million-to-one against him ever feeding himself again—and embarked on a determined quest to regain as much movement as possible. This challenging journey led him from the depths of despair to the exhilaration of cross-country road trips on a tandem bicycle with his mother and friends. Ultimately, it inspired him to open an affordable, socially conscious gym aimed at enhancing mobility for people with disabilities. In “Coming To My Senses,” we witness Aaron’s final symbolic act of recovery: attempting to walk 20 miles across Death Valley without support. But will he succeed?
