Joanna Moret, a celebrated lifestyle guru and romance specialist, has crafted a fail-safe method to combat holiday loneliness, which she outlines in her popular book, The Love Audit. Following an appearance on a morning television program, she receives the career-defining chance to organize the MacAllen Holiday Gala. Success in this endeavor could lead to her own TV show. However, unbeknownst to her followers and the MacAllens, Joanna is recently single and struggles to implement her own advice in her personal life. To avoid being revealed as a fraud, she persuades Ted, the morning show’s producer, to pose as her partner.
