Being Bradford Dillman

When Molly Flowers, a victim of bullying, expresses her disdain for boys, her alcohol-dependent and self-medicating mother concocts a shocking story to change her perspective. She tells Molly that she was actually born a boy named Bradford Dillman, but because her mother desired a daughter, she requested the doctors to remove her male anatomy. This removed part has supposedly been preserved in a shoebox atop Molly’s wardrobe, casting a shadow over her life. Molly’s vivid imagination brings Bradford Dillman to life. As her mother denies any recollection of the story, Molly is left to decide whom to trust.
