Akbar, now eighteen, was sentenced to death for a murder he committed at sixteen and has been in a rehabilitation center since then. Legally, his execution could only proceed once he reached adulthood. With his eighteenth birthday behind him, Akbar is moved to prison to await his execution. Meanwhile, A’la, a friend who has served time for burglary, is recently released and is making urgent efforts to persuade Akbar’s accuser to grant clemency and halt the execution.
