Batman: Year One

Two individuals arrive in Gotham City: Bruce Wayne, returning after years abroad driven by his relentless pursuit of justice, and Jim Gordon, a cop whose integrity got him into trouble elsewhere. Both encounter the harsh realities of the city’s corruption—Bruce on the streets and Gordon within the police force. They each devise their own methods to combat this corruption. Consequently, Gotham’s criminals, from the highest echelons to the lowest, are terrorized by the enigmatic Batman, while the equally valiant Gordon is tasked with capturing him by colleagues who both despise and fear the vigilante. During the ensuing pursuit, Bruce and Gordon discover common ground, laying the foundation for an unexpected friendship, as allies and adversaries alike contribute to the birth of a legend.
