At War with Love

Set in 1943 amidst the turmoil of World War II, the story unfolds in New York where Arturo is deeply in love with Flora, the daughter of a restaurant proprietor. However, Flora is betrothed to a Mafia boss’s son. To win her hand in marriage, Arturo must secure her father’s blessing, who resides in a Sicilian village. Lacking the financial means to travel, Arturo’s only option to reach Sicily is by joining the U.S. Army, which is gearing up for an invasion of the island.
