American Descent

In 2014, Sergeant First Class Stephen Harris crafted and shared this film as his message to the world. A group of teenagers receives an unmarked DVD from a U.S. Army base in Afghanistan, which contains footage of a mysterious woman bound to a tree. The video concludes with a hint. The teenagers pursue this hint, leading them from one clue to the next, until what initially seemed like a game transforms into a horrifying pursuit into Harris’s deranged psyche. Ultimately, the teens realize that they weren’t merely participants in a game; they were unwitting pieces in a revenge scheme orchestrated by a master of warfare.
