All in Good Time
Ayub Khan-Din, known for East is East, brings us another humorous and heartfelt depiction of family conflict. This film, adapted from his acclaimed play Rafta, Rafta (which draws inspiration from Bill Naughton’s 1960s classic All in Good Time), takes place in Bolton, where newlyweds Atul and Vina are celebrating their marriage. However, their plans did not include spending their honeymoon with Atul’s parents. Eeshwar, the thoughtless patriarch, seems intent on undermining and humiliating his son. As time goes on, the couple’s inability to consummate their marriage threatens their entire future together. Blending heartache with humor, All in Good Time features outstanding performances from original stage actors Harish Patel and Meera Syal.
