Alice Upside Down

Still grieving the loss of her mother from a few years ago, ALICE McKINLEY’s life is thrown into turmoil when her father, BEN, purchases a store and relocates the family, including her older brother LESTER, to a new town. Struggling through the challenges of adolescence, Alice finds it difficult to adapt to her new school, particularly after being assigned the strict MRS. PLOTKIN as her main teacher. Feeling shy and alone, Alice often retreats into a rich fantasy world, which sometimes lands her in trouble. However, with some unexpected guidance from Mrs. Plotkin, Alice learns the importance of not judging by appearances or making hasty assumptions. Most importantly, she confronts her father about his inability to accept their loss and move forward with their lives.
