Mitchell Goosen, a teenager from California with a passion for surfing and rollerblading, finds his life turned upside down when his zoologist parents receive a grant to work in Australia. Unable to accompany them, Mitchell is sent to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon arrival, he meets his cousin Wiley, who will also be his roommate for the next six months. As Mitchell starts attending school, he quickly finds himself at odds with the high school hockey players, leading to weeks of torment for both him and Wiley. However, circumstances force Mitchell, Wiley, and the hockey players to put aside their differences and collaborate in order to defeat their rivals from Central High School in a competition at Devil’s Backbone.
