A Kiss for Jed

Nineteen-year-old Orla from County Antrim emerges victorious in the ‘Follow a Star’ competition on Ireland’s national television. Her reward is a mission: to track down country and western singer Jed Wood, give him a kiss, and share her journey on the next week’s broadcast. The only person available to capture her adventure is Ray Timmons, a seasoned documentary cameraman. Together, they head to New York, where they join forces with Mike, a disillusioned sound recordist, and embark on their quest to find Jed, visiting film sets and recording studios wherever he is expected to appear. Their journey is also tracked by a pair of DJs from a local radio station. As the week unfolds, their relationship evolves, and they gain insights into each other and their personal aspirations, before returning home to confront the consequences of their adventure.
