Ryan, a gifted chef struggling with severe gambling issues, finds himself in a dire situation that forces him to quickly flee to a safe haven in an unspecified Latin American country. There, he is taken in by his friend Jack, a more esteemed chef who has his own set of challenges. Ryan is puzzled by how Jack manages to sustain such a lavish lifestyle, cooking for the wealthy in this idyllic setting. Although he tries not to be jealous, Ryan can’t help but desire this life for himself. However, a dark turn of events soon grants him that opportunity. Ryan takes on Jack’s identity and uncovers the lengths to which Jack has gone to uphold the lifestyle Ryan so deeply yearned for.
