Bobi Wine: The People’s President
Uganda, with its notably youthful population and one of the most overtly anti-democratic regimes, is ripe for upheaval. Bobi Wine, a magnetic musician and parliamentarian, along with his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi, are catalysts for change. When Bobi declares his candidacy for the presidency, the nation’s young people are thrilled, flocking to parks and streets to hear his speeches and sing his songs of peace and liberation. However, their movement faces severe repression from Yoweri Museveni, a ruthless autocrat who has held power in Uganda for 36 years. Bobi and his team endure arrests, beatings, torture, riots, and raids in their struggle.
