In the rural setting of Georgia in 1977, an unconventional young girl aspires to explore the cosmos. When a nationwide contest presents her with the opportunity to have her voice included on NASA’s Golden Record, she gathers an impromptu group of Birdie Scouts. Together, they form bonds that endure for a lifetime and beyond.
