Boris Without Beatrice
In contemporary Quebec, Boris Malinowski appears to have accomplished everything he set out to do. Known for his independent thinking and open-mindedness, he also exudes a certain pride and arrogance regarding his achievements. His wife, Béatrice, a minister in the Canadian government, has been confined to bed for some time, afflicted by an inexplicable depression. To distance himself from her suffering, Boris embarks on an affair with a colleague named Helga and grows closer to Klara, a young maid working in his household. However, the unexpected arrival of a stranger in his life compels Boris to confront the world around him, challenging all his assumptions and certainties.
