Izumi Kawashima, a high school student who spends her days evaluating newspaper articles, stumbles upon a wallet filled with a significant amount of cash. Rather than giving it back to its rightful owner immediately, she chooses to loan a large part of the money to a middle-aged man she knows. Later, Izumi returns the wallet to its owner, Koki, a rich high school boy, who realizes some money is missing. As a form of recompense, Koki requests Izumi to undertake a task for his friend: to produce a newspaper that spreads joy to its readers.
