Longtime companions Lenny Sugarman (Dominic Chianese) and Ruben Liebner (Dick Latessa), both in their seventies and quintessential New Yorkers, find it hard to recognize the Manhattan of their earlier years. The city they have cherished for so long has transformed into a haven for the ultra-wealthy; the familiar spots they have visited for years now serve as sanctuaries from a rapidly evolving world they struggle to keep pace with. When Lenny, a lifelong solitary schemer, finds himself in over his head, he decides to pursue something he has never experienced: genuine love.
