Pursuit of Loneliness

After an elderly patient passes away in a hospital, a nurse attempts to reach out to the patient’s family but is unable to make contact. Subsequently, a social worker takes over the task but only manages to find a neighbor who had been taking care of the patient’s dogs. A county investigator also struggles to find any family members and is eventually tasked with handling the deceased’s possessions at their home. Concurrently, the story follows a weak man’s release from the hospital and an older woman’s day as she runs errands and tries to keep cool amidst a heatwave.
