Inescapable

A quarter-century ago, Adib (played by Alexander Siddig, known for his roles in “Syriana” and “Cairo Time”), a rising officer in the Syrian military police, abruptly fled Damascus under mysterious conditions. Leaving behind his beloved Fatima (portrayed by Marisa Tomei, famous for “The Wrestler” and “The Ides of March”), he started anew in Canada. There, he built a fulfilling life with a loving wife, two adult daughters, and a successful career in Toronto. However, when his daughter Muna vanishes in Damascus, the past he thought he had escaped threatens to resurface with a vengeance. Joining forces with a Canadian envoy (played by Joshua Jackson from “Fringe”), Adib is forced to face the chaos he left behind years ago to rescue Muna.
