After being let go from his job and left by his wife, independent artist GORDON HAUGE (Mark Redfield) believes his life has hit rock bottom—until he crashes his car and ends up in purgatory. In this strange realm, he is besieged by zealous Shadowmen and hordes of Ragmen—souls enslaved for a sinister purpose. Gordon is saved by an unusual group of freedom fighters, individuals from various historical periods who died heroically. They enlist the hesitant and confused Gordon to join them on a thrilling journey through the bizarre landscapes of purgatory to confront the Despiser—an evil entity ruling this seemingly forsaken place between heaven and hell.
