Drown
Len, a celebrated Surf Lifesaving champion and a revered figure in his exclusive surf club, follows in the footsteps of his father. However, his esteemed reputation begins to falter with the arrival of Phil, a younger, quicker, and more athletic member. Len’s perception of Phil shifts dramatically when he notices Phil with another man, realizing that Phil is gay. After the club’s annual awards dinner, Len confronts Phil in the locker room and assaults him. Surprisingly, Phil chooses not to report Len for the attack. Phil’s victory in the annual Surf Lifesaving competition marks Len’s ultimate downfall. Seeking revenge, Len intoxicates Phil and subjects him to degrading acts. This malicious behavior forces Len to confront a profound question: can he come to terms with the reality of his own sexuality?
