Set five centuries after the Chaos in Heaven, the Tang Priest is tasked by Buddha to journey westward to retrieve the holy scriptures. However, he inadvertently releases the Monkey King. Meanwhile, Lady White, played by Gong Li, seeks to dismantle the group formed to thwart her plans. The Monkey King must engage in battle to protect his realm!
