Junior MasterChef Australia

Junior MasterChef Australia is a competitive cooking game show for young chefs aged 8 to 12. It is a spin-off of MasterChef Australia, which itself is based on the British show MasterChef. The inaugural season started filming in July 2010 and featured 50 contestants, selected from over 5,000 children who auditioned nationwide.

Judges Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris returned, joined by Anna Gare, while Matt Moran took over from Matt Preston. Callum Hann also participated in the series.

Unlike previous iterations, Junior MasterChef Australia is produced by Shine Australia. The promotional trailer aired during the final episode of MasterChef Australia, and the series debuted on Sunday, 12 September 2010.
